Error in formula?

[edit]

The formula is given on this page as: RDI = (RERAs + Hypopneas + apneas) X 60 / TST (in hours) which is then described as the number of events per hour. Why is the "X 60" in there? I believe the verbal description, events per hour, is correct (see: http://healthysleep.med.harvard.edu/sleep-apnea/diagnosing-osa/understanding-results , http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9927364 ). But this description doesn't match the formula; the description would suggest the formula RDI = (RERAs + Hypopneas + apneas) / TST (in hours) without the "X 60".

I don't feel that I have sufficient access to medical sources considered authoritative to find a good citation for this, and I don't have easy access to the currently-cited source for verification. But I strongly suspect this is in error. Emertonom (talk) 02:45, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
