Finally this page has been KEPT! So much for examples that I find noteworthy being "grounds for deletion". I'm just glad this page is being KEPT! --Highway 231 (talk) 17:34, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, sir. It is kept for no consensus. There were not enough grounds for deletion, that is something else than a clear keep. The Banner talk 19:14, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
While I don't think that the article should be deleted, it still has a lot of problems, and may be subjected to major trimming back if they are not resolved. If you care about this article, please try to improve it, as indicated by the warnings at the top of the article page. Reify-tech (talk) 19:54, 22 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It looks to me as if this is turning into a list. Aren't there guideline for lists?Jacqke (talk) 09:41, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Addressing notability

[edit]

There are hundreds of articles online that make mention of repurposing. The articles tend to not be about repurposing, but they tend to shout about it as something to be admired as the solution to whatever problems the articles are about: repurposing land, buildings, medications (side-effects give medicines new uses), reusing ideas and images (marketing), and of course junk of all kinds. I think that this could potentially be a very broad article that needs organization, but that could link to many areas of Wikipedia.Jacqke (talk) 09:41, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Moving pieces of article and photos

[edit]

I am cleaning up this article by chopping it. Everything I chop is going onto my Sandbox to give people a chance to object or to restore them to the article.Jacqke (talk) 09:56, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Repurposing vs. Improvisation

[edit]

What is the exact difference between Repurposing and Improvisation. It seems there is an overlap... Etan J. Tal(talk) 08:42, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"repurposing older work trucks" example

[edit]

(Comment left in the article, moved here by HaeB (talk) 07:41, 5 October 2020 (UTC))[reply]

( Is this an example of repurposing? It appears to me to be a used vehicle purchase and nothing more. The purpose for which the trucks were used remained the same. There were no other changes or alterations mentioned in the above example; I am wondering what exactly defines the act of repurposing.

  • And I obviously have no idea how this editing format works...pardon my ignorance, but perhaps my blunder will help others whom may be confused about this as well. I rely upon Wikipedia often and indeed, I visited this site to double check the veracity if what I thought to be the defining characteristic of repurposing.)

Not only is that not repurposing, but it was nog written in an encyclopedic tone. --Khajidha (talk) 16:21, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pizza peel

[edit]

Hello Khajidha. The article begins, "Repurposing is the process by which an object with one use value is transformed or redeployed as an object with an alternative use value." This pic accurately reflects that statement. So, I restored the pic. Most kind regards and respect,Hu Nhu (talk) 03:34, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
