Fair use rationale for Image:Republic day air show.jpg
[edit]Image:Republic day air show.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Why "Republic Day"?
[edit]The article is missing at least a short mention of what the main difference was between "Dominion Status" up to the adoption of the Indian Constitution and the constitutional form that the subsequent Indian Union was henceforth taking. While it is mentioned that King George VI remained head of state after independence, no mention is made of the fact that the Constitution actually converted India into a republic and thus removed a fundamental constitutional linkage with the British Empire. It is this change that is being celebrated in the national holiday, and it should get at least a mention. 81.179.10.84 (talk) 12:53, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
Chairman of constitution assembly
[edit]Pl check some lines Dr.B.R.Ambedkar gave huge contribution in constitution assembly. He was chairman of drafting committee. He was not chirman of constitution committee.'drafting committee' important one. could be mentioned specifically. check some facts : http://parliamentofindia.nic.in/ls/debates/facts.htm — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kunalrdeshmukh (talk • contribs) 16:46, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- This is the article about the annual holiday; we don't need specific details about the constitution, as that information appears on many other pages. Qwyrxian (talk) 01:31, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Factually incorrect information on date on which Purna swaraj resolution was passed.
[edit]Dear Wikipedia users,
The date on which the Purna swaraj was passed which was mentioned on this page is factually incorrect. The actual date was December 19,1929 and on January 26,1930 the resolution for Pledge for complete independence was passed. We can refer to the Wikipedia page of Purna swaraj for correct information.[1]

I'd suggest changing the "British Regime" part of the article to say "British Raj" for NPOV reasons and also possibly fixing some typos in the text (e.g. "Republic day" in the lead -> "Republic Day"/"India achieved independence from British Raj" in the "History of Republic Day" section -> "India achieved independence from the British Raj") if necessary 🙂 2405:9800:B640:40B6:A5A1:A04A:2877:9FB6 (talk) 02:29, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
