Studied under whom ?

[edit]

There are two versions, neither is provided with a citation:

  • Verison 1:
Later Kawai studied under aikido's founder Morihei Ueshiba, and his son Kisshomaru. Ueshiba granted Kawai a teaching licence in 1963.
  • Verison 1:
Later Kawai studied under Aritoshi Murashige, a pupil of aikido's founder Morihei Ueshiba during the pre-war years. Murashige granted Kawai a teaching licence in 1963.

Which version is correct? And what is the reliable source? The cited sources say the diploma was of the "school of Morihei Ueshiba" but are not specific. I have removed the statement of precise teacher pending provision of a source. --Bejnar (talk) 05:00, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Beats me, I barely remember creating this page. The Danish website suggests his diploma was handed down by Ueshiba, but I'm relying on Google Translate for that, which isn't exactly famous for its accuracy. No clue where Murashige's name turned up, that was added by someone else, but it doesn't seem terribly likely - according to Aikido Journal, he went to Brazil (with his teaching licence, presumably) in '58, but didn't study with Murashige until a few years later. The re-wording is fine as far as I'm concerned. Yunshui  08:06, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
