SoX

"Sarbanes-Oxley act [...] which defined significant tighter personal responsibility of corporate top management for the accuracy of reported financial statements."

Is THIS really what compliance is about? It might (and well should) be an incentive for management to install thorough compliance-oversight in their companies (because if they don't, they might be liable for it). But personal responsibility rules are not compliance per se, are they?

SoX does, however, have OTHER compliance-related rules, such as the rules regarding independence of auditors, ie. the separation of auditing and consulting companies.

Compliance in country XYZ
