18 or 22 regions?

[edit]

Main article Chad states Chad is divided since February 2008 in 22 regions. Correct here accordingly, map has to be changed too... --katpatuka (talk) 11:36, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Three of the four "new" regions are as follows;
  • Map Region #2 subdivided into three regions - Borkou, Ennedi, and Tibesti. Based on the names, presumptively each of the Departments of the former Region became Regions, except Ennedi, which is composed most likely of Ennedi Est and Ennedi Ouest (East and West Ennedi).
  • Map Region #6 (Kanem) has been subdivided into two Regions; Kanem and Barh el Gazel. Again, Departments promoted to Region.
  • Map Region #14 (Ouaddai) was subdivided into Ouaddai and Dar Sila. It looks to me like Djourf Al Ahmar and Sila Departments became Dar Sila region, with the Ouara remaining in Ouaddai. Assoungha Department's destination is unknown - as a guess I'd say it remained in Ouaddai, but that would be assuming wikipedia's map of the location of Adre is accurate
All of this assumes that none of the departments were simultaneously changed in any way. Main source: http://www.un.org/Depts/Cartographic/map/profile/chad.pdf -96.229.15.45 (talk) 01:20, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It would be nice to add an area column to the table, but I was unable to find a source. --Lasunncty (talk) 02:35, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Map incorrect?

[edit]

Appears borders of the northern regions are different on this map: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ennedi-Est_(region)#/media/File:Ennedi_Est_map.svg Sdrawkcab (talk) 23:49, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
