Refugees and North Koreans
[edit]Usually, defectors from North Korea are considered as refugees, too. However, it makes sense that they are not included in the asylum statistics since they do not have to apply for asylum. South Korea does not recognize North Korea and therefore, they get South Korean documents after a background check. I always wondered why North Koreans do not appear in stats, but when only considering asylum, it makes sense (Talk:List_of_countries_by_refugee_population#South_Korea). Still, it is strange to read have an article about "Refugees in South Korea" that says nothing about North Koreans. --Christian140 (talk) 21:43, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
