Does the term even exist in English?

[edit]

Like most of the endless number of castellology articles translated word for word from German by Bermicourt, the problem here too is: do the terms 'refuge castle' and 'refuge fort' even exist in English? Wiki isn't supposed to make up terms. Keeping the original German term as such can be a solution, but consulting British specialty books always remains the best way. Literal translation, pretending to use established terminology, is deeply wrong. Wiki terms tend to take a life of their own, so that such made-up, wrong and illegitimate creations end up spreading. We're not an academy, just a crowd-written online encyclopedia of modest level but high impact. Arminden (talk) 15:12, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do see the Creighton ref: it is THE ONLY REF of this long, unsourced article, which is only focused on Germany and Austria. And even this ref covers only the first 2 words, one of the 2 boldened terms! It's beyond incredible. Also, it lacks ISBN and URL, making it a case of trust-or-bust. Is it available online?
