Protection/unprotection

[edit]

This page was protected, apparently on grounds of vandalism, but the movies removed are of questionable verifiability--I find no sign of them. It seems to me that this is a content dispute and one in which those proposing that the movies should remain listed have the onus of proving that they belong in this encyclopedia article. That is, that they do exist and that they featured Reema.

Moreover the protection was not marked, although it has been listed on Wikipedia:Protected page. This was apparently an oversight as Slimvirgin normally does a very good job. I'm taking the liberty of removing protection. Please settle this amicably. --Tony SidawayTalk 17:20, 4 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about forgetting to tag it, Tony. I just came over to check whether it still needing protecting, and thought I'd imagined already having done it. The reverting continues so I've reprotected but changed the tag from vprotect. I also checked a couple of the films and found no reference to them but that could be a transliteration issue. Could the editor who wants to add these films please supply a source? Without a source, the anon is allowed to delete them. Many thanks, SlimVirgin (talk) 21:41, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't add those films to the list. I saw that Mel Etitis had rv'ed the removal of the films and assumed he had added them. But as you can see here it was in fact an anon (202.84.246.178) who added them to the list. I just looked and this editor has a history of vandalism (see [1]) and even of changing titles of movies starring Pakistani actresses (see [2]). I googled the titles of the movies the anon added and found that none of them are mentioned anywhere outside of Wikipedia; the other movie titles are, however. I would propose keeping the list the way it is right now (while removing the Family films header, which makes no sense, unless she had made films, which didn't fit into Family films) and apologizing to all the anons, who removed the non-existing films from the list. I would also like to apologize for the rv's.--Carabinieri 22:11, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, Carabinieri. Thanks to Tony for spotting the problem. I'll unprotect it now. SlimVirgin (talk) 22:47, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

(After edit conflict.)
If the films are bogus, I'm sorry to have replaced them. All I saw was an anon (using different IP addresses each time) who removed a section without explanation. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:50, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That's understandable. If the anon reads this, please add your reason for deleting something in future in the edit summary and/or on the talk page. Many thanks, SlimVirgin (talk) 22:59, 5 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

According the Reema's , presumably, own and official webpage it is stated that she's Libra (23rd Sept-23rd Oct). But the DOB information provided here makes her a Scorpio. Therefore a verification is required.Hus787 (talk) 17:03, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

Birthdate

[edit]

Anyone want to provide a reliable source for her birthdate? Anyone against removing the date until we have a reliable source? --Ronz (talk) 20:32, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Until we have a reliable source, best to keep it out per WP:BLP --Ronz (talk) 15:20, 26 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know who added the current info. The reference looks ok. --Hipal (talk) 19:13, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Where's the reference? There is nothing authentic about her, but some fans made pages about her. and all the links are broken. Ufjohns (talk) 22:40, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
https://www.facebook.com/IamReemaKhan
This is her official Facebook verified page. where her date of birth is written clearly. Ufjohns (talk) 23:01, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please look at the article. Ref #7: "ریما خان آج 45 ویں سالگرہ منائے گی". Daily Pakistan. 27 October 2016.
I don't see "fan made pages" being used. Please point them out. --Hipal (talk) 03:16, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Sir, The Article Ref#7 you mentioned above has nothing but a copy and paste from your Wikipedia info and a translation from English to Urdu. and they mention the source (online). not from any person. Please check below the article that you gave ref. No. its same as you mention in the start on Wikipedia.
2601:154:C480:8A20:9916:1D06:89D2:F2ED (talk) 03:38, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding you, and I'm unclear if you've understood what I've written.
https://dailypakistan.com.pk is used over 800 times in English Wikipedia, and I see no WP:RSN discussions about it.
https://en.dailypakistan.com.pk/about-us appears to describe a legitimate news publisher.
I've started a discussion at Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#dailypakistan.com.pk_(URDU-language_ref) to get more editors involved. I certainly don't want to rely upon my use of auto-translation to determine this. --Hipal (talk) 17:53, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@SamuelRiv: responded to the RSN posting (now archived), but didn't make it clear if this specific reference was usable in this case. --Hipal (talk) 16:23, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Samina Peerzada interview

[edit]

For whatever reason, the YouTube video reference was removed. If anyone wants to use it, please provide timestamps so editors don't have to go through the entire video. --Ronz (talk) 18:28, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It was used to verify

In an interview to Samina Peerzada in her web-based show Speak Your Heart with Samina Peerzada, Khan stated that she belongs to Qazalbash tribe. In the same interview, Khan went on state that she completed her early education at St. Mary's Convent School in Multan, but later moved to Lahore, her place of birth, before starting her film career.

Previously the article contained

...to a Punjabi family.[1]

There's not enough context to determine if both statements are correct or not, but "Punjabi" is WP:OR without some sort of clarification.

Also, the elaboration about who gave the interview is inappropriate. --Ronz (talk) 18:47, 7 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
