Information from Burnie in the sponsor thread.

Burnie has explained in the sponsor thread for OoM that the episodes have been completed and sent to Microsoft for a while, but weren't going up for some reason or another. He also stated the mini-series was condensed to 5 episodes so as not to delay production on RvB season 5. I'll wait to add this to see if the info it shows up in a non-sponsor source, but what does everyone think about making a sponsor thread a reference? Yay, nay? -- Viewdrix 17:12, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

As I don't think it deserves another section, I noticed you used the rvbchar template for O'Malley/Omega, which I had difficulty pulling off, despite writing it in the edit correctly, just as you have. In the end, I had to settle for the List of characters#O'Malley variation. Any idea if something happened to the O'Malley section or template to cause that, or was it just a glitch? {{rvbchar}} can take a second parameter to create a piped link. I would prefer it if the rvbchar template were used to link to characters because some have been and will be moving to their own articles, and the template allows the link change to occur in one place instead of 20. — TKD::Talk 03:38, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Australian?

I just downloaded and watched episode one, and have a query over the nationality of those two guards. Being Australian, I know an Australian accent, but it didn't seem like they were even trying to sound remotely Australian when they voiced those. Sounded more like they were trying to do a Cockney accent. And since Wyoming himself is British, it makes sense that he'd label fellow British people as his 'best guards'. Also, it was never explicitly stated that they were Australian, so is that really verifiable? Sorry to be nit-picky like that, but Australians tend to do that about our accents. PS. "Crikey" is not an Australian word. Everyone hates that word.

To me, it sounded to very much like an impersonation of the stereotypical Australian accent, down to the presumption they all say "crikey". They registered in my mind as Australian upon my first viewing, and when I read some comments about the episode, they were also referred to as Australian, so in all honesty, that sealed the deal for me. It didn't seem to need verification as Australian because it seemed obvious at the time. Being British-born, I'm surrounded in British culture living with my family, and I wouldn't call that a cockney accent personally. I just thought in writing up the summary that it should be noted that these were Grunts with accents atypical of Grunts, and wanted to identify the accent.

...*Ten minuters later*

After conferring with my London-raised father, here's his take: the Blue guy was an American who watched too many Steve Irwin shows attempting an Australian accent, the Red guy was a loose London accent, and both were sped up and pitch altered (which he noted himself without my asking, even though he's only seen seasons 1 and 2 of RvB and doesn't know of the Grunts). And he said that the "crikey" and "mate" was what gave it away as Australian. :p I'll take it down, since there are different opinions, but I thought his opinion was a good match to yours, and it was interesting to see what someone thought without knowledge of Wyoming's existence or what his loyalties may be. -- Viewdrix 15:11, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, thanks. I can understand "mate" being interpreted as Australian, everyone uses that word (but then, so does Wyoming), but the word "Crikey" hasn't been used in Australia - for any reason - for at least five years. Steve Irwin might have something to do with that, since he has some bizarre-o accent that sounds little if anything like Australian anyway. Delta

How was the glowing hologram, Delta, created (technically)? I am especially curious about the glow cast on the other characters.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.158.160.6 (talk • contribs) .

Although nothing is official, my educated guess is that they filmed him as yellow-ish character in Halo 1, cut him out and placed him over the video of York and Tex in editing the video, and changed his opacity to make him slightly see through, like when Church is seen as a ghost, and made his image seem to be projected by adding the sort of streaks around him. They may have also tinted him slightly green with the same editing program. The glow was made in Halo 2 itself, with the Plasma Pistol weapon, which emits a green glow in the game when charged. -- Viewdrix 15:07, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

York

There's one thing that's been kinda puzzling, if the present was destroyed by the bomb in Church in Season 3, everyone got teleported to the future (Halo 2), but the one thing I don't get is how York got to the future. Since Tex's relationship with York existed prior to Red vs Blue starting, wouldn't he be dead from the bomb? The only people who should have been in the series from the main storyline should be Tex, Wyoming, and Omega because they were all sent to the future from the bomb (unless if everyone in the present was teleported to the future...in which case, Rooster Teeth should have been more clear about this).

As I said on one of the other talk pages, I spoke to Jason's brother a little while ago who asked that same question to Matt and Geoff, who answered with: plothole. It happens. Dac 07:54, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
