There is no wine in the bread butter, only in the scampi butter, which goes in the scampi's, garlic alfredo, and other things. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.185.34.63 (talk) 04:19, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Controversies

[edit]

I think there should be a mention of controversies the chain deals with, such as the issue with fish/lobster farming (http://www.bnet.com/blog/retail-stores/red-lobster-could-get-pinched-pen-raising-its-own-lobsters/839), as well as the accusations of supporting of Seal hunters (http://www.seashepherd.org/seals/boycott.html & http://www.hsus.org/marine_mammals/marine_mammals_news/down_to_numbers.html) KyprosNighthawk (talk) 09:24, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-Protection Proposal

[edit]

I think it would benefit this page if it were semi-protected. Currently there is a majority of vandalism and correction edits; with few edits actually improving the article. If it were semi-protected, editors could focus on rewriting, sourcing, and improving the article. Opinions? Jdcollins13 (talk) 14:16, 18 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

April 2012 Revision

[edit]

I just completed a major overhaul on the entire article. In the process, I chose to delete the external link shown here - ([1] Link about Red Lobster closure in Quebec and Olive Garden closure in Ontario. In French.) The link seems useless to me on an English version of the page, but I would like to preserve it here in case there are any other ideas. I also consolidated the cleanup tags in the article to place what I felt was most important and appropriate. The previous tags/layout made the article unreadable. Proposed Additions

[edit]
Proposed draft
[edit]

On November 3, 2014, the brand announced that it was a launching a new, seafood-focused menu with lobster options on virtually every page to showcase its seafood expertise.[1]RLComms (talk) 22:03, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In November 2015, Red Lobster increased the size and enhanced the preparation of its shrimp menu items, particularly with its Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Skewers and Shrimp Cocktail, to address guest feedback. [2]RLComms (talk) 22:03, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Locations

[edit]

In September 2014, Red Lobster partnered with Secret Recipe Group to open the first Red Lobster restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.[1]RLComms (talk) 22:03, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In November 2014, Red Lobster opened a Harlem-themed Red Lobster next door to the historic Apollo Theater in New York City. The restaurant features a unique interior with a velvet-lined ceiling and artwork by Harlem artists. [2]RLComms (talk) 22:03, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Marketing and Advertising

[edit]

In July 2011, Red Lobster launched the new “Sea Food Differently®” advertising campaign which focused on the employees in the restaurant and increased Red Lobster’s presence on social media. [1]

RLComms (talk) 21:55, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RLComms. The proposed changes seem rather promotional to me. Explicit promotionalism is forbidden on Wikipedia; writing about promotional campaigns is not much better unless you can demonstrate why the initiative is significant. For example, Red Lobster has hundreds of restaurants. Why should the ones in New York and Malaysia be mentioned? If we included every single restaurant opening in the article, the page would quickly become overwhelmed. Altamel (talk) 23:14, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Correction Request to Article Sidebar

[edit]

Red Lobster does not have a location in New Zealand.

Area served list should read as follows:

Area Served: United States Mexico Saudi Arabia Canada Japan United Arab Emirates Qatar Brazil Malaysia Kuwait Ecuador RLComms (talk) 19:11, 29 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would be happy to implement this request; however, I'm having trouble verifying what countries Red Lobster operates in. Could you provide a reference, or have the webmaster for your site post such a list? Altamel (talk) 23:14, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a reference with an accurate list of current Red Lobster international locations for consideration. [1]RLComms (talk) 12:48, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Revised Correction Request to Article Sidebar

[edit]

Providing a new source to correct the article sidebar list of international restaurants. Red Lobster does not have a location in New Zealand. The RedLobster.com website now features an accurate list of current Red Lobster international locations. [1]

RLComms (talk) 13:55, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I would have addressed this earlier had I seen your edit from last April. Thanks for your patience. Altamel (talk) 23:03, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of name

[edit]

The 1940 Disney animated film, Pinocchio, features a fictional restaurant called the Red Lobster Inn (portrayed as a meeting place for the film’s antagonists). Was the real restaurant chain (which was founded later) named after the fictional one? If so it should go in the article; if not there still should be a mention of the true origin of the name. 2604:2D80:6984:4D00:0:0:0:2731 (talk) 22:59, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
