Hoeck
[edit]As far as I know, the Dutch word for peninsula is schiereiland. Hoeck may be an older spelling of hoek, which means angle, corner or hook. The town lies near the Hudson River, but not directly on it. It doesn't in any way resemble a peninsula. Jhendin (talk) 14:56, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
