What height does the front legs have to lift up in order to be classified as rearing?

Any height at all. With the hind feet on the ground, the horse not moving forwards, and the front feet both off the ground, that is rearing. Snezzy (talk) 10:06, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
At least, they are thinking about it. Unless we are talking about a levade, which is basically a controlled rear.
