Why Called A City?

[edit]

I don't understand. How can a place with only 247 people be called a city? And how can a place with that few people have its own high school? Even if 1/10 of them are high school age, which is high, that would mean 24 pupils. Given at least 5 different subjects (English, math, science, history, and a foreign language) that would mean a pupil-teacher ratio of less than 5:1. The article should say if this school still exists, if it's actually a regional (as opposed to municipal) high school, or whatever. Bostoner (talk) 20:47, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kansas state law provides that all municipalities are cities, regardless of their population. I don't know about the school. Nyttend (talk) 01:05, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The school is an attendance center that serves students from Kindergarten through Fifth grade. It's part of Unified School District (USD) #251, North Lyon County. It is still operational and will be enrolling students for the 2011-2012 academic year in August, according to the USD #251 website. Leslauber (talk) 14:37, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Photos

[edit]

We need tornado damage photos. It isn't easy, but if you want to upload photos, see the article that I've been working on in my user space (it isn't an official wikipedia article). http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Sbmeirow/HowToUploadPhotosToWikipediaSbmeirowTalk16:46, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
