"Midnight Madness" music video
[edit]I know that it takes two to edit war, so to avoid that, let's use this opportunity to present some sources – TerminatorZXY, you can't just claim that a music video is automatically a "video single" and include it as among the singles for the album. I also addressed this at the Maximum Overload album, where there was only one single. I changed to the sources for the other three songs to Apple Music in order to prove that those songs are singles, but no such Apple Music single page exists for "Midnight Madness". Twitter is not a good enough source here – the tweet sourced for this song definitely can't be used, as it doesn't even specify that the song is a single (if it is a single, that is). As far as I can tell, it is just a music video that's been released post-album release – it happens all the time. You need to present a reliable source proving that the song is a single, and you need to actually listen to me when I say this. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 02:35, 4 October 2017 (UTC)
Music videos usually automatically make the song a single, at least a video single. Post album release singles are a thing.
The reason why they don't get released separately on iTunes and whatnot is because they're already available to listen in the album, whereas pre-release singles are done so that they can found by the users since the album itself isn't out yet.
The Last Journey Home (the best example here), Operation Ground and Pound (just as good), Seasons etc are all post-release singles that aren't separately available on websites, but the band confirms that they're all released as singles. Do you need me to prove that? I'll be right happy to.TerminatorZXY (talk) 23:02, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
- Actually, I do, because what I'm currently seeing is original research. I know that post-album releases singles are also a thing, but they can also be separately available on iTunes, etc. Once again, please provide a reliable source proving that the song is a single, and not just a music video. Music videos do not "usually automatically make the song a single, at least a video single" – read (properly) what you linked to regarding video singles. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 23:54, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
- Here you go: https://www.discogs.com/Dragonforce-The-Last-Journey-Home/master/1117886, ZP calls it a single here, on the official live CD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rsv4bpS2dA - separate song is nowhere to be found on iTunes. Operation Ground and Pound: https://www.discogs.com/Dragonforce-Operation-Ground-And-Pound/release/3337582 Hell, even Through the Fire and Flames isn't separately available. Just because it's not available on iTunes separately, does not making a non-single. Any sort of separate release of a track from an album, by an artist, is considered a single. - This has got nothing to do with "Midnight Madness" – that you thought this discussion was over and resorted to re-adding the song is considered disruptive. If you can't provide a source for the song in question like I have asked a number of times (leave other songs/examples out of it), then you're wasting my time. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 23:15, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I'm mentioning other songs because to prove how the band does things. Where can you find say, Through the Fire and Flames separately? Should we remove it from Inhuman Rampage page then? Midnight Madness by default falls under video single. Any separate official releases of the song, fall under singles. Also, I'm not wasting your time, you're the one wasting your own time. You're not forced to edit pages. TerminatorZXY (talk) 13:15, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
- I most definitely am forced to when I have to deal with people like you. This – "I'm mentioning other songs because to prove how the band does things" – is not how Wikipedia works. I've had enough of going back and forth. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 13:54, 12 November 2017 (UTC)
- I don't force you, you force yourself. You can live life without editing wikipedia, but you choose to waste your own time. That's fine, but don't blame me. This is how the band works, that said, you avoided my question - should we remove singles from Inhuman Rampage and Ultra Beatdown then? It falls under the release of a single by Wikipedia's definition, since you're the one instigating on keeping things how "Wikipedia works", you're not even doing that. With that alone I don't even need to mention other albums. TerminatorZXY (talk) 11:23, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Wouldn’t you also classify “Reaching Into Infinity” as speed metal as well, along side the other genres? Sonichasballsofsteel (talk) 03:52, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
