I'm not sure he is dead. By "was a sprinter" I just meant that I assume he's retired. I doubt he's still a sprinter now as he'd be 71 years old.--T. Anthony (talk) 06:39, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The wikipedia formatting in the line is correct. He "is" (still alive) a "former" (is no longer active as a) sprinter. By the way, he is welcome to compete in Masters athletics events and become active. Write me if you are interested. Trackinfo (talk) 20:08, 24 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
