In the October 5th issue of Rolling Stone there is an article on Ray. It states that he lives in Wilton, Maine not Lewiston like this article says.

[edit]I found a picture which i think would be better for the main page instead of the album cover. I can't find a copyright so help me out if it can be used. You can find the picture im talking about right around....here.--SteelersFan UK06 10:03, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Good Article
[edit]This article meets the requirements for a Good Article: It is very well-referenced, the content is stable, and it appears to meet Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy, a trait fairly rare amongst musician-related articles. I see no need to deny this article GA status any longer. Firsfron of Ronchester 02:01, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- I do. There's a "LaMontagne" in almost every sentence. "LaMontagne" makes an annoying reading. "LaMontagne" should be replaced with personal pronouns every now and then. :-D --Zoran M (talk) 00:35, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ditto. Some of the references cited don't support the text, a number of others are dead links. Some statements in the text appear to be personal opinion.97.91.254.54 (talk) 17:15, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Upbringing
[edit]After the move from Nashua, New Hampshire, I know that Ray attended Buckfield High School in Buckfield, Maine. Also, the shoe factory that he worked in was (I believe) in the Bates Mill Complex in Lewiston, Maine.

Checking against GA criteria
[edit]To uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of February 27, 2010, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.
- It is reasonably well written.

Rewrite
[edit]This article has a lot of information and nice photos. It has the potential to have GA status again. At present there are a lot of problems with the writing (prose). For example the Lead is awkward, contains too much detail and does not properly summarize the article. So I am going rewrite the lead and clean up the writing style in the entire article. Then I will resubmit it for GA approval. If anyone wants to help or discuss changes here on the talk page, I welcome their participation. cheers! -- — Keithbob • Talk • 18:08, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- Well I haven't been back for a while. I'll try to work on this article some more. Not sure I will resubmit it for GA review though. We'll see.-- — Keithbob • Talk • 17:45, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Ray LaMontagne
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Ray LaMontagne's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
