Most of the information on the website is taking from the book People of India. However, I will re-edit to make sure there is no sentence overlap.

About Rastogi's, Rohtagi's and Rustagi's

[edit]

I am not satisfied with the information about Rastogi's , Rohtagi's and Rustagi's.

Every body knows this information, nothing is new in this and this content do not give breif information about Rastogi's ,Rustagi's and Rohtagi's. Well what is published here isn't fully true. Well no caste census in india has reported the caste of Rastogi's,Rustagi's and Rohtagi's. Indian society puts them in the list of bania, well this is partially true but this is not the history and actually they are not bania's. Indian society puts them in the list of bania ,just because of their occupation. While most Rastogi's,Rohtagi's and Rustagi's are money lenders and bussiness mens, but this does not define them as bania. Every Rastogi knows about their past and their origin, that Great Maharaja Harischandra was their penate and they are the clan of Rohitashwa (son of Maharaja Harischandra). Please find a reliable, scholarly source for your claim. Wikipedia is not a place to propagate pseudo-historical narratives aimed at caste glorification. utcursch | talk 18:12, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request to utcursch not to overwrite changes

[edit]

Vaibhav agrees with Grtaishr and request utcursch to please not make any further changes to this page. Our intention is not to glorify and is writing what all Rastogi believe. Please consult with me before you overwrite my changes as I feel offended by your behavior of over writing my changes without consulting me — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaibhav1403 (talkcontribs)

Please see WP:BURDEN. People are not obliged to consult with you before removing your caste-glorification propaganda that fails WP:V and/or WP:RS guidelines. utcursch | talk 16:33, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Responding to utcursch. Please check pages for other communities such as "Agarwal", "Rajput" etc. Why do you think that they are not "caste-glorification propaganda"? If Wikipedia is creating any page on "Rastogi" community then you should stick to what Rastogi community believe and what historian and research papers say. None of the content mentioned in my edit is against the Wikipedia guildelines. Rastogi community has all the rights to have a page dedicated to what they believe. I am reverting your changes again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaibhav1403 (talkcontribs) 23:47, 14 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The pages Rajput and Agrawal have several reliable citations, and do not contain ridiculous statements such as "one of the oldest history of Hindu religion as King Harishchandra". Please see WP:BRD, and stop restoring your changes without gaining consensus. utcursch | talk 02:26, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
utcursch You have sent me a separate threatening message as well that you will block me as user if I edit the page again. I also want to tell you that Wikipedia can face legal actions if Wikipedia has given such authority to a person like you to overwrite my changes and an authority to send such threatening message to me. I have few below mentioned concerns with you so far. (1) You have earlier used the word "high class" for rastogi. You may not find a single Rastogi who boasts of being a higher cast. We have participated in independence battle and always play an important role in uniting the society. Please give us a reference which allows you to use "High cast" word in your previous edit. (2) You have accused me of doing "caste-glorification propaganda". If you check my edit I have clearly mentioned that Rastogi community is a great example of "Profession based caste system". We claim that we were originally Kshatriya and now count ourselves as baniya. There are few Rastogi who count themselves as OBC (Sunar) also. (3) I have given you reference of Mr. Pillai's book and Sudha Rastogi & Deepak Tyagi's research paper. Please give me a strong reason for not referring those in your article. (4) My great maternal grand father Mr. Vishnu Sharan Dublish has participated in Kakori Kaand and was imprisoned along with Ram Prasad Bismil in Kaala Paani. I can send you a group picture of his with Ram Prasad Bismil. (5) Rastogi community is not supposed to convince you to publish a Wiki page for them. You can not publish anything about Rastogi community if we do not agree with you. There is enough research on Rastogi history and even if we do not have enough evidences we have all the rights to use the work "We believe". No one can prove that Raja Harishchandra exist but still all of the Hindus believe him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaibhav1403 (talkcontribs) 07:32, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
utcursch I am offended with your words such as "ridiculous statements" and "stop restoring your changes without gaining consensus". All Rastogis believe that we are descendants of King Harishchandra. There is unanimous consensus among Rastogis about this. I can agree of your self made theory of writing only well proven facts. No one can prove that Sri Ram, Sri Krishna or King Harshchandra existed. We all know that we are fighting Ram Temple case since ages when all of us know that Ayodhya is the birth place of Sri Ram. As per your theory all pages of Sri Ram, Sri Krishna and King Harishchandra should be removed from Wikipedia as we do not have any evidence. If you have visited any Rastogi family house, you may see Rastogi monthly magazine as "Harshchandra Bandhu". If you read this magazine then you will find that all Rastogis officially believe that we are descendants of King Harishchandra. We have all the rights to have a Wiki page on Rastogi community and their beliefs. We can always say that "Rastogies believes that they are the descendants of one of the oldest king of Hindu mythology". For your information we are the only community who claims that we are the descendants of Rohitashwa, who was the son of King Harishchandra. There is consensus about this and no other community makes such claim which strengthen our case as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vaibhav1403 (talkcontribs) 11:53, 15 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please see Wikipedia:No legal threats.
"Mr. Pillai's book" contains exactly one sentence about the Rastogis - it states "the Rastogi and Ajudhiabasi are clearly of Vaishya descent", which is opposite of what you're claiming. A research paper by a Rastogi author that claims that "the most tenable theory" is that her caste is descended from a mythical king isn't exactly an acceptable source per WP:CONTEXTMATTERS.
Sure, you can write "Rastogies believes that they are the descendants of one of the oldest king of Hindu mythology" (with correct grammar, of course), but that's not what you are writing. Finally, once again, please go through WP:V and WP:RS. utcursch | talk 06:00, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
