Waffen-SS Field Marshal band

[edit]

This is a non-existent insignia. Himmler never wore a field Waffen-SS uniform and never wore such a wrist band. This should be explained or removed entirely. -OberRanks (talk) 14:12, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know where that came from. You are correct that Himmler never wore it; nor did he wear a Waffen-SS field uniform. If is existed, it would be in Mollo, Andrew. Uniforms of the SS, Waffen-SS, Volume: 6. I don't have that book any longer but, I recall that you do, OberRanks. If it is not there, it didn't actually exist. It is a non-existent insignia. The highest official rank of the Waffen-SS was Oberst-gruppenfuhrer. Ironically, Himmler's own rank was seen as an Allgemeine-SS position, and his actual control over the Waffen-SS is today even still debatable. -OberRanks (talk) 19:56, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that was so, only suggesting Mollo's book for easy conformation on the matter. Cheers, Kierzek (talk) 20:51, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Note to others-there was no Waffen-SS rank for Reichsführer-SS. That was the national leadership title and rank over the entire SS. It was not a field rank and as OberRanks states would be a Allgemeine-SS position and rank. That is the reason for its removal herein (as noted at the top of the list/article page). Article name

[edit]

I wonder why is this entry named after the Waffen-SS while in fact, it features multiple formations such as SS-Totenkopf-Division and SS-Totenkopfverbände, as well as the Sturmabteilung (SA). Please hoover over the i-links to see what I mean. The entry is redirected from Ranks and insignia of the Schutzstaffel which should be the actual real title due to WP:SCOPE. Erroneous Insignia

[edit]

Unfortunately, the graphic of Sturmscharführer is erroneous. It shows a shoulder strap of the SS-Sicherheitsdienst ( Corps colour: poison green). The pattern of that shoulder strap (strap made of fabric, 3 pips indicating rank of Sturmscharführer) is generally correct for all SS-branches - except for the SS-Sicherheitsdienst (SD)! Sturmscharführer (Stuscha) of the SD wore brown-white cord braided "figure-of-eight" shoulder boards following the pattern of Polizei-Meister of the Ordnungspolizei (look here (figure 7)), with Corps colour poison green. Accordingly this graphic should be remodeld by changing the toxic green branch color to any other branch color of the SS. Additionally a new graphic of a cord braided shoulder bord (for SD-Stuscha) should be designed and added. --Wasserläufer (talk) 07:03, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Junker Ranks

[edit]

Can somebody add these insignias for the Junker ranks to their respective Scharfuhrer ranks?

Thank you! MSTVD (talk) 07:10, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
