Justification for the page

[edit]

Just putting a note here that I plan to make this page much bigger and better referenced, so please don't delete it. Randy has, over the years developed,at least in Australia, if not on the international comedy circuit, a public image, personality and a history of his own, similar to other long standing alter ego type characters, hence why I think he deserves a page separate to his puppeteer, Heath McIvor.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gudzwabofer (talkcontribs) 21:45, September 1, 2015 (UTC)

Href needed

[edit]

Hi, I added a appearance Randy made in 2016 on "The Yearly with Charlie Pickering". Unfortunately however, "The Yearly" is just a event version of "The Weekly", and as such, does not have a wikipedia page specific to it. If someone is able to, please add a redirecting thingy from "The Yearly with Charlie Pickering" to "The Weekly with Charlie Pickering". Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.191.147.103 (talk) 15:26, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

The Heath McIvor article has had a BLP sources banner since 2013 with seemingly not much done about it since, and from my own searching it doesn't appear there's much coverage of McIvor separate from his Feltface work. The McIvor article is also very spare and could easily fit in a section here. QuietHere (talk) 01:19, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I acknowledge that Heath McIvor isn't the most comprehensive article on Wikipedia, but I'm not sure the existing content would fit well as a section of this article - it's virtually all "non-Randy". And I note that Ossie Ostrich and Ernie Carroll are separate articles, and Ernie Carroll is about as detailed as Heath McIvor. DH85868993 (talk) 09:54, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Right, but the Carroll article is citing valid sources (ABC, Sydney Morning Herald) while most of the McIvor sources are primaries. The independent notability of the Carroll article is another question, but regarding these I don't think the McIvor is up to snuff enough to stand on its own. Really I guess I'm moreso proposing to delete McIvor and take a synopsis of it for use here. A section dedicated to a bit of backstory on the creator of a character/project isn't out of the ordinary. Maybe that's not exactly a "merger" by WP standards, I just wanted to throw the idea out and figured this made the most sense. QuietHere (talk) 13:12, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've sent this discussion over to an AfD here because that seems like the venue where it'll actually get attention. QuietHere (talk) 03:35, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Source for birthday

[edit]

Is there a good source for Randy's birthday? If I recall right the 17 August date is one of the jokes in his comedy specials, although on a recent interview he stated it was August 3. 121.200.6.23 (talk) 11:39, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Unidentified people

[edit]

I think it's inappropriate for this article to be included in Category:Unidentified people because:

a) Randy is not a person, and
b) he's not "unidentified" - we know exactly who operates him - Heath McIvor.
