Will check, thanks. SeoR (talk) 09:08, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Try the Westmeath Topic, 13 August 2021, <<Randal’s ‘The Green Sea’ – a labour of two loves in Mullingar>>, covers both film and new daughter and fiancee. These seem good points:
  • “--started filming in winter of 2017 -- until winter 2019” -- “sitting on the shelf for about a year” -- “-- my first feature film -- had previously spent around ten years doing post-production and shooting other people’s films.”
  • It’s fair to say that Randal fell in love with Mullingar at the same time that he fell in love with his partner, Laura Dillon, and the film is a tribute to that love and to his mother. Recalling the pair’s first date in Danny Byrne’s --

Danny Byrne's, for those not from about, is a popular spot in Mullingar. 79.104.6.61 (talk)

To add to this article: information about Plunkett's rewilding of his estate, as well as the fact that he is a vegan: source 173.88.246.138 (talk) 03:38, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the point; checked and done. SeoR (talk) 09:08, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Occupation and such

[edit]

@Westmeath98: if you have a reliable published source for this occupation information you're trying to add, but can't figure out how to insert a citation, just mention it here and we'll help you get it into the article. -- Fyrael (talk) 20:53, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Media section needed

[edit]

This guy hardly seems to be off the radio and even TV, he needs an "appearances" section — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.198.140.206 (talk) 14:38, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This "death metal baron" is still poping up, in print, on screen and on the radio and podcasts, surely this should be mentioned? You need a picture too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.190.57.195 (talk) 09:11, 26 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Media names / sobriquets

[edit]

Is popular naming worthy of mention. Seen so far:

  • Comment: DYKCheck on 2 Dec.: Assuming article is at 5x now, expansion began 71 edits ago on November 26, 2021. // Like my last DYK nom, Ireland's Eye, a case of hidden potential; additional hooks could be found in other parts of the bio but the rewilding drive is the lead source of notability. Illustration tested at 100 (x89) pix. Further points could be linked (ancestral estate > Dunsany Castle and Demesne, for example) but piped links can add quite a bit to the character count.

5x expanded by SeoR (talk). Self-nominated at 00:51, 3 December 2021 (UTC).[reply]

  • Expanded from ~3000 to ~15,000 characters of prose in seven days. Neutral and cited. No copyright issues found. The image is free and looks good in a small format. ALT0 is exactly 200 characters not counting "(pictured)", ALT1 is slightly shorter. QPQ was done back in August. My only issue is that the sources seem to give different info about the woodpeckers: Irish Times from December 2020 say they have never been sighted in Meath before, but France 24 from October 2021 says they were "sighted in the area for the first time in a century". Is there some detail missing here or is the older info just outdated? Ffranc (talk) 10:45, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for a prompt and thorough review Ffranc. The Irish Times is the newspaper-of-record and I think is the superior (and more locally-aware) source, and what they said was clear "Confirming the presence of the pair of greater spotted woodpeckers, Niall Hatch of BirdWatch Ireland said: “There is no evidence that they were ever in Meath before.”". I think the other wording simply reflects record-keeping - e.g. there are records for about a hundred years. I don't think that there is any claim that woodpeckers were specifically seen 100 years ago, and vanished - they are not mentioned among the "returned species" in the many articles. So I don't think it's a contradiction, just one making a broader statement, the other confining themselves to "as far as we can tell". I will try to find more sources. SeoR (talk) 11:59, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • But just in case, I will offer a precautionary wording as an ALT 0a. On hook lengths, these are from the start impacted by the long article title, (pictured) and piped links, and the actual word base word content is within limits, I think; for ALT0a, I cut a word to help with this. SeoR (talk) 12:29, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Looks good and your explanation sounds reasonable. (But I like to imagine someone found a letter or diary entry from Lord Dunsany where he mentioned having seen a woodpecker.) Ffranc (talk) 13:56, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Which Randal?

[edit]

Why does Randal Plunkett go to some obscure 19th century figure instead of either of the Dunsany Lords of that name? The 19th was Lord Dunsany for 42 years, a decorated veteran and Head of a Knightly Order in Ireland, while this guy is already Lord Dunsany for 10 years, and is all over the news for the last couple of years with this huge re-wilding gig. The other one I've never heard of. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.176.29.57 (talk) 15:57, 3 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this has been dealt with since. SeoR (talk) 17:28, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Heir - sourcing

[edit]

After legacy content source Cracroft's Peerage was removed (and IMDB), I must look into sourcing the brother-as-heir, maybe Burke's (p. 1240 in one library-held edition may help). This is a point readers would expect to see. SeoR (talk) 17:27, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Other genealogical connections

[edit]

"He is descended from the Earls of Jersey, and the family of explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton."

On the one hand, that is pretty vague, and "...descended from...the family of...." doesn't make clear that the connection to Richard Burton is that of cousin, not direct descendant, unless you already know that Sir Richard Francis Burton didn't have any children.

On the other hand, is there really any point in being more explicit? As in: He is a two-greats-grandson of Victor Child Villiers, 7th Earl of Jersey. He is a four-greats-grandson of Admiral James Ryder Burton. He is a 2nd cousin 5 times removed of adventurer Sir Richard Francis Burton. — Preceding unsigned comment added by D. C. Personal data - referencing needs

[edit]

A little-active editor added a couple of significant personal claims - of marriage, and another family member. Under BLP standards, these are removed for now. Initial searches show no evidence of marriage - in Ireland, such things can be fully private, never mind if conducted abroad. A step-child may be implied by a line in [1] but this is insufficient under WP:SYNTH. Any additional sources welcome, as if true, updates like this would be relevant.
