Renaming the article

[edit]

Probable other names:

  • Swami Ramdev's satyagraha
  • Protests by Swami Ramdev for black money
  • 2011 Swami Ramdev anti-corruption movement

The names that you think are better than the present name can be enlisted above. (Aawwaajj (talk) 07:23, 5 June 2011 (UTC)).[reply]

Definitely should be merged. It is a part of the anti corruption movement Wikivishalvikas (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 07:32, 12 June 2011 (UTC).[reply]

Makes sense to me. The objective is the same. It's part of the wider movement, rather than a separate one in and of itself. Joyson Noel Holla at me! 17:41, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Considering the fact that Ramdev now has decided to shift his place of his Satyagraha/protest to Haridwar. I support this merge. Kannan Reddy (talk) 18:11, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Part of the wider movement and would make more sense incorporated into that. Seems like a weighting issue otherwise. - Sitush (talk) 17:58, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This article doesn't even make sense, given that there were no ground protests in Ramlila, right? Pardon me while I express just a little frustration, but Wikipedia cannot be used as a place to promote upcoming events. Heck, we even need to be extremely wary of reporting events just as they are happening. Wikipedia is not supposed to be a first responder; go to Wikinews for that. Once the events have happened, their scope is clear, and their notability established, then we can write an encyclopedic summary of them--not a day by day timeline. This should be merged and cleaned as well according to wikipedian standard.--abhishek (talk) 05:59, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be a fair choice, since the actual events at the protest ground itself are not extensive, and the protests will be actually fighting corruption. Apoorv020 (talk) 22:12, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Ramlila Grounds events, needs a separate article or page in in itself, which can be shown as a see or further : Ramlila Ground Protest or Ramlila Ground Events in the page 2011 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement. As it is Ramlila ground events, for which the government was blamed for in apt handling and it is for this event the Supreme Court has taken suo moto cognizance. and definitely as the hearing proceeds further info will be added to this page. The title of page mentions Ramlila Grounds and people search internet for Ramlila ground events and not 2011 anti corruption movement.Jethwarp (talk) 02:45, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Further 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement page deals with protest held by Anna Hazare for Lokpal Bill and this one was by Baba Ramdev for black money stashed in Swiss Banks. I think think the 2011 Indian anti corruption movement page should be renamed to identify it with subject like Lokpal Bill Protest and both the events spreaheaded by Swami Ramdev and Anna Hazare be included in a new page which again can be named as 2011 Indian anti corruption movement.Jethwarp (talk) 03:07, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose There is a detailed article here with 50 references almost all of which are about this specific incident and not about the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement in general. This information ought not be condensed because the media thought to record many details from this event, and the citations are referencing a lot of different things. It also would not be right to merge it in entirety with the anti-corruption movement article, which is long enough already and this event is only a small part of that movement. Many people in support of the merge above seem to be opposed to the current name of this article, and I agree, this article is inadequately named. I propose that it be renamed 2011 Swami Ramdev anti-corruption movement to parallel with the mail article and to describe the limits of the coverage of this topic. To any people who think this article is not notable for Wikipedia, I would ask whether they think this topic was notable to the media. I think international coverage by literally of hundreds of newspapers proves that this event was notable in its own right aside from the general anticorruption movement. Neutral

  • Neutral i.e. merge as well - The page offers some details of the event that may not be exhaustively presented in the merged article. In other words, this article should be taken as a main article to a subsection in the 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement i.e. mentioning in both articles with relative weights as per article in consideration. ..असक्तः सततं कार्य कर्म समाचर | असक्तः हि आचरन् कर्म.. • Comment I think we should wait for few more days as things are unfolding regarding the Supreme Court's suo motu notice, notices issued by National Human Rights Commission to the Union and Delhi governments and the clarity on correlation of this protests with 2011 Indian anti-corruption movement.( Aanna Hazare team).-- . Errors in reference section

[edit]

Errors generated in the absence of title/name tags should be corrected. ..असक्तः सततं कार्य कर्म समाचर | असक्तः हि आचरन् कर्म.. Humour Thisthat2011 10:09, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please mention exact title/name tags,which should be corrected.--abhishek (talk) 10:31, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
When a reference is used again on the same page, a pointer is used instead of repeating the link again. The title part is needed in cite: reference tag otherwise it will generate error. I think the errors are already corrected. ..असक्तः सततं कार्य कर्म समाचर | असक्तः हि आचरन् कर्म.. Humour Thisthat2011 10:34, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
