Turkish citizenship

[edit]

The link does not prove that he holds also the Turkish citizenship. If he really does, that may have legal consequences for him. Generally speaking, Austrian citizenship law does not allow dual or multiple citizenship. This principle is only waived in certain special cases. Official Austrian figures state that 273,000 people with Turkish roots live in the alpine republic and that around two-thirds of those hold Austrian citizenship. How many of those hold a Turkish passport as well is unclear. But estimates put the number at around 10,000 and they could be stripped of the Austrian citizenship. 212.186.42.47 (talk) 07:52, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
