Notes
[edit]- Added Saints cat
- Do you think his Catfish nickname is prominent enough to add to the lead or no?
- Added.
- Add 2x national champion to the infobox
- Added.
- Do you know if he was first team or second team All-SEC. Suggest adding that to the infobox as well
- Third-team in '60, the second-team in '61, added both with refs
- Add second team All American to infobox
- Added.
- "recording one receptions for 29 yards" change to reception
- Fixed.
- Saying he left the Browns makes it sound like he became a free agent. PFA says he was released. (You may very well already know but PFA bios have a transactions link on them)
- Changed (FWIW, PFA's transactions were only a recent addition to the website and I don't think it was there when I wrote this).
- Any stats for his college career?
- SR says one catch in '59 for three yards, but that just doesn't sound right at all for an All-American (and he's catching a pass in the photo! That couldn't have been his only career catch) - I don't feel comfortable saying that in the article.
- He wasn't a two way end in the NFL was he? I think he just played offense? Should it say he was a tight end in that section? Were they actually using the phrase tight end that much back then?
- He was a one-way player, but "tight end" wasn't really correct terminology until around the end of his career (looking at a newspaper search, there are more mentions for "end Ralph Smith" than "tight and Ralph Smith" up until '69.
- I added an image
I think that's it. WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 05:44, 19 October 2023 (UTC)
All points have been addressed. Passing the article. Nice work! WikiOriginal-9 (talk) 22:59, 22 October 2023 (UTC)
