Edits by Israelinkorea
[edit]A newly created account has been making edits to this article. I reverted the first time but parts were restored along with new text. I have reverted a second time. Here are the reasons:
- first set of edits added a twitter account to the lede. This did not add anything to the reader's understanding and is effectively just promoting the social media account;
- first edit added an official photo (credited online to the Israeli Embassy) uploaded by this new account as "own work", which makes it appear like a copyright violation -- certainly nothing at commons suggests that the identity behind this new account has received any scrutiny yet (and no disclosure is to be found), such that the license given to WP can be relied upon
- second edit restored the photograph despite my identification of the ostensible WP:COPYVIO. No reason was given.
- second edit added a bare link to the embassy website to the lede; this might be appropriate in external links but it's not helpful as an inline citation; even a press release for his nomination would be better than this
- second edit removed personal details and added CV material, without citing any sources
@Israelinkorea please respond here before making further changes. Please also consider WP:COI and WP:UPE for specific guidance if you are connected to the article subject. There may be good explanations for your edits but just reinstating your preferred content without engaging with the issues above is unlikely to end with the article being improved in the way you seem to intend. - Hi, we are managing Ambassador's profile therefore added new information by request. Please do not revert this again, we are official account of the Israeli Embassy based in the Republic of Korea, associated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Israelinkorea (talk) 05:51, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- To avoid having your changes reverted, please respond to the concerns above before editing again. It looks like you were reverted before as a logged-out editor for adding unsourced information [1], but you reinstated it without adding sources. Is that right?Please consider WP:COI and WP:UPE before making your next move. You say you are an official account, but this account was created about an hour ago and you didn't even bother to put up a talk page declaring your identity or interest. - We did not have the Wiki account when made the first edit, only text. But we need to upload new photo for the Ambassador Rafael and found only signed-in account can make such change so we registered. Again, our edit is legitimate per request by the Ambassador Rafael himself. The source and credit was mentioned by adding the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please revert to the page, the latest update we made. Israelinkorea (talk) 06:05, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- All information added to Wikipedia must be supported by reliable sources particularly when it involves a living person. Here are some links you might find helpful:
- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.

- I think we have no problem with the guideline given, and we did read all carefully and respected the protocol. The Israeli Foreign Ministry bears all of the contents right, and associated with that each embassy and mission across have the rights also to use the content and present online, including wikipedia. - Followed the guidelines by adding reliable sources for his biography details? By respecting the external links policy and WP:NOTPROMO by not adding unnecessary inline external links? Disclosing your conflict of interest per WP:COI?Actually follow the policies and guidelines, and listen to what other editors are telling you, and you will find your edits tend to get retained. If you claim you "respect the protocol" while just doing what feels right to you, that may not be so successful. Oblivy (talk) 06:38, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
