Radhanagore or Radhanagar?

[edit]

I think the correct spelling of the place's name is Radhanagar and not Radhanagore. Google search is also supporting the same spelling. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 15:28, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Different spellings have been in use for various place names. There is nothing right or wrong about it. The Government website still uses the spelling Radhanagore - see [1]. While new spellings are gradually taking over, the old spellings are still in use. There are hundreds of such cases in Wikipedia. Sometimes, different government departments use different spellings. I don't think there is much need to be in a hurry to rectify such anomalies unless one does not have some thing more meaningful to work on. - Chandan Guha (talk) 16:04, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good job! Let's go with Government! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 16:12, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is "also spelt Radhanagar" necessary?

[edit]

First line" Radhanagore (also spelt Radhanagar) - After the discussion with Chandan Guha, I created a page for Radhanagar and redirected that page to this article, so if someone searches with Radhanagar, (s)he will be redirected here. Is also spelt Radhanagar necessary here? --Tito Dutta (Talk) 07:01, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'also spelt', 'also referred to as' etc. are common practices in Wikipedia. There is no harm, if the small bit of information is there. - Chandan Guha (talk) 10:57, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
