"More correct type of RAID"
[edit]"Using a more correct type of RAID can avoid this problem" - Such as? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Avinatbezeq (talk • contribs) 2012-01-16T03:07:13
- The most common alternatives to RAID 5 are RAID 6 and RAID 0+1 - theoretically, either of these can suffer the same problem if an array loses power just before completing a parity operation. However, if only one drive fails to complete a write in a RAID 6 array, or in a RAID 1 array with at least 2 mirrors, it is possible to identify the odd one out and recalculate the correct parity from the remaining n-1 drives. I've updated the article to reflect this.Kazuo Ishiguro (talk) 20:02, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
