The shares

[edit]

Im sure (correct me) that Janine said to Phil " I own one half of this club aswell, you know" (something to them words), so has Roxy sold Ronnie's share aswell? Has the shares got mixed up? MayhemMario 13:07, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Roxy can't sell Ronnie's shares, but someone owned 60% didn't they? I forget now but it was pretty clear at the time. By the way, didn't you leave? –anemoneprojectors10:42, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions

[edit]

Gareth-- Talk about complications!

Gambling activity: What terminology is used in UK for what we call a "front" or "cover" for another activity other than what publicly a business may appear to those that do not know for certain? If there is anything in use that may be more immediately acceptable than the current string. Another phrase is "only on paper" which is just as long "as only in writing."76.170.88.72 (talk) 12:13, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Billy Mitchell later gets a job at the club from Steve, because Steve knew it would annoy Phil and Grant Mitchell."

How about, ""Steve employs Billy Mitchell at the club because it would annoy Phil and Grant Mitchell.""76.170.88.72 (talk) 12:19, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

R&R: Something is missing-- ""her plans to buy Scarlet^^^^^^^^^ to her sister Roxy Mitchell. Ruby Allen owns""76.170.88.72 (talk) 12:23, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

""wiring complications"" use "faulty wiring" used in UK?76.170.88.72 (talk) °12:26, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

""In August 2011, to spite her cousin Phil for telling her that she is no good for the business and should sell her share of the club to him, Roxy instead sells her share (20%) to Janine Butcher, much to Phil's dislike""

How about "Roxy spites her cousin Phil by selling her share (20%) to Janine Butcher because he told Roxy that she was not good for the business and should sell her share to him."76.170.88.72 (talk) 12:37, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

""Ronnie is in prison, and although it is never stated what happened to her share, Phil offers 19% to Sharon because it is the most he can give her without losing control to Janine, implying that Janine now owns Ronnie's 20%.""

How about: "Ronnie is in prison and no one knows what has become of her share although it is assumed Janine has it (20%). So, Phil wants to avoid losing control of the business to Janine and stop Sharon from resign by offering her a 19% share."76.170.88.72 (talk) 12:58, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. All sound observations. I shall work my way down the list in small revisions, which is my style, as you already know.
We say "a front" too.
"George Palmer opens The Cobra Club in 1996, employing Huw Edwards and Lenny Wallace as barmen. A police raid in 1997 results in the closure of the club. Later in the same year, Annie Palmer, George's daughter, reopens it as The Market Cellar. Again this proves to be not only a front for George's money laundering and illegal gambling, but also for Annie's loan shark business with Phil Mitchell and his mechanic, Conor Flaherty."
That's all for tonight ... shall return. What do think of it so far? — | Gareth Griffith-Jones |The WelshBuzzard| — 20:13, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good of course. These things take time otherwise you burn out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.170.88.72 (talk) 00:11, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
