Most recent quick kick

[edit]

Come on now -- the most recent quick kick??! Does anyone really expect to keep that sentence up to date? Especially when you consider the vast number of games of American football -- many witnessed by hardly more than their participants & officials -- played at various times of year around the world? Remember that even touch football counts, as the principles discussed in the article aren't limited to tackle football. I've got to remember to come back here after a decent interval to remove that sentence, because the odds of its remaining true diminish daily, if it's even true now. -- robgood@bestweb.net141.155.37.84 (talk) 22:58, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Quarterback Randall Cunningham made 20 quick kicks during his career"

[edit]

This is not accurate. Randall Cunningham punted 20 times, as the reference shows. Those punts were not all quick kicks, in fact to my recollection, having watched every game he ever played with the Eagles, most of them were on fourth down. Some involved trickery where they appeared to set up an offensive play, much like a quick kick. Others were not tricks at all, he was punting outright out of punt formation, either because the regular punter was injured, ineffective, or they were looking for some sort of spark and thought he might provide that punting. Pooch Punt is hyperlinked to Drop Punt

[edit]

Intentional? Doesn't seem like it. I can't fix it because I don't know what it should be. 104.220.91.194 (talk) 17:27, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
