Merging King's and Queen’s Commendation for Brave Conduct articles?

[edit]

The King's Commendation for Brave Conduct and the Queen's Commendation for Brave Conduct were the same award, except for the title change on the accession of Queen Elizabeth II. They however have separate articles on Wikipedia. Would it be better to merge the two?

As a comparison, the Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air has one article that includes both the Queen’s and the earlier King’s award.

If merged under the King's Commendation, the article would have to be retitled either 'King's Commendation for Brave Conduct (1916-1994)' or simply 'King's Commendation for Brave Conduct'.

Any views?

Merger of two Wikipedia articles
I have now merged the articles for the King’s Commendation for Brave Conduct and the Queen's Commendation for Brave Conduct into one article.
They are the same award, save for the name change to reflect the succession of Queen Elizabeth to the throne in 1952.
I have placed the combined article under the Queen's Commendation heading:

  • to reflect that the Commendation had this name for longer: 42 years (1952 to 1994), compared with 13 years (1939 to 1952) for the official King's Commendation; and
  • to be consistent with the approach taken with the King's/Queen's Commendation for Valuable Service in the Air.

Any views are welcome.
