Move to "Quantum science and technology"?[edit]

Three out of four of the references that make this topic notable use the term "quantum science and technology". Only the uncited book uses "quantum science". Johnjbarton (talk) 16:54, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

And the book
  • Quantum Science. doi:10.1007/978-981-19-4421-5.
only uses the term "quantum science" in the title, it never discusses the topic directly. Johnjbarton (talk) 17:44, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Substantial deletions[edit]

I cut a bunch of material from this article that were unsourced or WP:SYNTH. In Wikipedia content additions need to be justified by references and consensus, see WP:BURDEN.

It is clear that "quantum science" is not now a synonym for "quantum mechanics" or anything older. This is new term and it should not be presented as a historic concept. Johnjbarton (talk) 17:02, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It shouldn't be presented at all without sources that explicitly discuss the term as a term, rather than merely using it. We're not lexicographers. XOR'easter (talk) 18:37, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
