Clarification

[edit]

It can be read that either the stock pile or waste pile can be built upon. Is there any clarification that can be put in? Cleanelephant (talk) 01:31, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think this has been addressed. By definition, neither a stock pile (usually held in the hand) nor a wastepile can be built upon. However, the top card of the wastepile can be played to the foundations. Bermicourt (talk) 21:56, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Two articles?

[edit]

I've clarified that the article can refer to two different games with different layouts and building rules, but wonder whether it would be better to split them. That might be even clearer and would allow infoboxes to be used. The later game could quite happily be called Captive Queens (which is where this article was originally) as that name has become at least as common as Quadrille since WW2. There are not many sources for the earlier game, but 4 of them call it Quadrille or Quadrille Patience/Solitaire, while Hapgood calls it Royal Quadrille. We could use the latter for disambiguation purposes as long as the naming was clearly explained and appropriate redirects created. Views? Bermicourt (talk) 13:59, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
