According to a lab at Columbia University which performed dendrochronology on wood from 48 Hudson Avenue, and according to the present-owner/restorer/preservationist who presented the architectural evidence to the Historic Albany Foundation, and according to the Historic Albany Foundation who concurs, and according to the Albany County Convention Center Authority who plans on using it in some fashion; 48 Hudson Avenue is now recognized as the oldest house in the city of Albany. I will, unless there is significant opposition be changing the wording on this article to reflect that. We must remember that new information is always coming in and just because for 100 years the Q. House was recognized as the oldest and therefore has lots of published material stating it is, that doesnt make it correct today. The NRHP document has been proven wrong, not because of any wrong-doing on the author's part but because new information has been found that wasnt available back then when it was believed that 48 Hudson was 30 years younger than it was proven to be. I will use the sources I have found to create an article on 48 Hudson. Ive been researching this problem of "who's house is older" for a couple weeks since I first brought it to Wade's attention and he got a photo for me and I believe I now have enough.Camelbinky (talk) 01:42, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
