Come on guys, the name "2023 Iraq wedding fire" is unoriginal for a standalone event. I think this should be renamed to be a bit more specific, and have the current name be a redirect. Maybe something like "2023 Al-Hamdaniya wedding fire", or "2023 Nineveh wedding fire" could be a better name for this article. Quake1234 (talk) 09:26, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you, and the article has been updated to "Qaraqosh wedding fire" which seems to be a better title for the article as it is descript and is more than a generic title. Would love to hear your input about the article title. Jurisdicta (talk) 18:02, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Im Assyrian from these areas.
Wiki is hiding the truth about the cause here.
It's not the flare and this action is not done by mistake, rather a clear deliberation by the local militia, which the media is downplaying.
Anyone living closely here is clear about this act as a genocide act not a mistake.
It's a shame that wiki is deleting the comments that indicate the truth here.
The groom and bride showed on videos telling this is not a mistake rather an intentional act, and there are videos for the same brand of cold fireworks under plastic bags proving the claim, this does not burn.
Moreover they contacted the US Assyrians for DNA tests to match against some unknown body parts and it came positive.
In other words from the heat they failed recognizing the bodies which is impossible if the heat is too low for alcohol burns.
This is most likely a high combustable material usage.
