[edit]The photograph illustrating the article on Sultan Kalawun is not of the mosque of this sultan (more precisely, of a madrasa within his complex at Bayn al-Qasrayn in Cairo). The caption says "Qalawun Mosque" for unknown reason, even though it correctly states that the mosque of al-Nasir Muhammad Ibn Qalawun (at the Citadel) is shown. This mosque is not known as "Qalawun's". The complex of Qalawun is a very important piece of architecture historically and artistically, and very beautiful (Caroline Williams, Islamic Monuments in Cairo, AUC Press 2002, p. 165-8). It has very little in common with the mosque of al-Nasir Muhammad shown on the picture. A photograph of Qalawun's complex should be included. Jaroslaw Cairo (talk) 14:35, 7 July 2008 (UTC)

Translation of the name/title.
[edit]الملك المنصور should translate as "the championed king" since the word Mansour refers to someone being championed to victory by someone.
"The Victorious King" would be "الملك المنتصر".
similarly, "الملك الناصر" would be "the championing king", one who champions his people/nation/soldiers/faith to victory
Also "الملك الظافر" would be "the winning king" because الظفر refers not only to victory, but a gainful victory, usually winning something as a result of victory (a castle, a country, a horse, a treasure, etc). 2607:FEA8:4B80:9703:2CD7:23B7:8CBF:5A72 (talk) 08:15, 3 October 2022 (UTC)
