excerpt from his book

I have added this, There are no copyright issues with classical Islamic works, although the translator has given consent for parts of this work to be reproduced throughout the internet. I have also reduced the size of the Quotes and dont think it is to much since little is written about the Author himself.--Rami.b 01:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is way too excessive for Wikipedia. Copying whole slabs of text is not what this project is about. Prester John 06:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

well it isnt a whole slab since i cut it down. this article has not been developed enough for anyone to be objecting to anything or rather objecting for the sake of objecting.--Rami.b 03:45, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"This article or section seems to contain too many quotations for an encyclopedia entry." the quotations are from his work directly which i have provided a link for on the front page.--Rami.b 04:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. The entire article is just quotations, which do not teach much about Qadi Iyad. Maybe write what his beliefs/theology was and organize the quote according to what they come to show? Otherwise, it's simply quoting a website and you should just give the link. Misheu 07:21, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
To bring an example. The quote: He said: "There will be one liar and one destroyer (kadhdhab wa mubir) from Thaqif." It was thought that this referred to al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf and al-Mukhtar ibn `Ubayd.[9]. Why is it thought to refer to them? What does it mean? Notice that these people already have links in Wikipedia, so it would be good to link to them in the article itself. Misheu 07:26, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
