Rather odd?

[edit]

That they skipped the entire 2008 year to do recordings and just show it in 2009?

When the show was originally recorded, the intention was to broadcast it on BBC Two in the Autumn. Indeed, the 2008 Children In Need episode was intended to fit nicely into the middle of the BBC Two broadcasts. After recording, the decision was made to move the show to BBC One, but scheduling conflicts meant that there wasn't room for QI until early 2009. Mark X (talk) 18:21, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Episode order

[edit]

I have decided to slightly rejig the list so that the two specials are now placed first. 'Flash' on the QI forums (a producer of the show) has now confirmed that the broadcast of these two will be, unsurprisingly, in their appropriate slots. The CIN one is on the 14th Nov while the Xmas one will be on 'sometime around that date'. He didn't mention though whether this episode will signal QI's grand arrival to BBC 1 or its grand departure from BBC 2. The CIN episode should once again be the show on BBC 2 while the main programme breaks for the news. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kisbie (talkcontribs) 22:35, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alan's Buzzer: Episode 3

[edit]

The buzzer used by Alan is from The Goon Show. "He's fallen in the wa-ater!" was the catchphrase of Little Jim. ISD (talk) 15:54, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Wilhelm Scream in "Film"

[edit]

In the Episode "Film" in QI XL, Stephen talks about a person on YouTube who made a compilation of the films and tv shows that had the Wilhelm Scream in it...well i found the video here. Hope that helps for the person writing it...I personally don't have THAT much time.

Bare Knuckle Pugilsm

[edit]

There were 24 recorded fatalities from bare knuckle fighting in England between 1719 and 1824. The Velazquez collection, linked, would seem to suggest the assertion that gloves make the sport more dangerous to be false. http://ejmas.com/jcs/jcsart_svinth_a_0700.htm

If you want to correct QI on a matter I would suggest contacting the forums or emailing their "Qibble Blog" at elves[at]qi.com ISD (talk) 08:28, 18 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I had done so already, http://www.qi.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=10090&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 albeit in a slightly different part of the website. (AbrahamCat (talk) 14:18, 30 January 2011 (UTC))[reply]
