Steve Irwin's death
[edit]It is reported that the Autralian Bull ray (Myliobatis australis) caused Steve Irwins death see - Practical Fish Keeping - Jeremy Gay: 5.9.2006. How does this fit into the list of species here? Lumos3 11:19, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- It does not fit in as it is a different genus. -- Kim van der Linde at venus 11:48, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
- Australian bull ray (Myliobatis australis) is not found in northern Queensland so cross it off the list of culprits. I don't think any of the Pteromylaeus live in Australia at all, certainly Pteromylaeus bovinus doesn't, so I don't think it was any of these either. Nurg 01:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Synonym listed
[edit]Is the species Pteromylaeus episcopus the same as the species Myliobates episcopus [listed] in the ITIS checklist of life? If so it is a synonym of Pteromylaeus bovinus. The taxonomic authority listed is the same, but I have not checked it (it does seem peculiar, however). Anyone want to clarify this? --TeaDrinker (talk) 19:11, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
