Pskov (Pihkva) Region Estonians
[edit]According to Eesti Entsyklopeedia 1938, there lived in 1920 1.500 Estonians around Porhov in 10 ethnically Estonian inhabited villages. What happened to them?
The total number of Estonians living in Soviet Russia, Pskov (Pihkva) Province was in 1920 13.200 of which 3.800 lived in Toropets (Toropa) Rajon, 3.100 in Holm Rajon.

They moved to Estonia,I suppose. There was around 40% of Russian-speaking population in Estonia in 1989.Now they are just 25-30%.What happened to them? Frank Russian (talk) 10:11, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
You should also consider the number of Seto people. Neither in Russia nor in Estonia they are considered a distinct ethnic entity. In Estonia they are considered "South Estonians", and in Russia they have to be registered as either Estonians or Russians (even though Setos are an officially protected ethnic minority of Pskov Oblast). This uncertain status gives very random numbers for their population. Anyway they obviously underwent serious assimilation processes since 1920. Hellerick (talk) 04:42, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Ǐ

Если вы приостановите видео в 4:12, вы можете увидеть, что флаг был теперь область флага. 174.91.72.204 (talk) 16:13, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
- You only have to go to Commons: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Pskov_(Pskov_oblast).svg 82.141.67.208 (talk) 11:57, 7 December 2013 (UTC)
- You only have to look at the title of that file :) It's the flag of Pskov (the city), not of Pskov Oblast (the federal subject).—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); December 9, 2013; 12:52 (UTC)
- Oh, now I got it. The "Pskov Oblast" in parentheses mean Pskov is located in there, not that this would be its flag. 82.141.67.208 (talk) 14:24, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
- I just clicked the link to the video, and it has length of 4:02, so I can't pause at 4:12. 82.141.67.208 (talk) 14:31, 12 December 2013 (UTC)
UPDATE: Pskov Oblast recently adopted an official flag and coat of arms separate from that of Pskov city. -Sumiaz (talk) 01:43, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
- The article says that the "Civic Chamber" of the oblast (a semi-official organization) sent its proposal to the oblast legislative council and says nothing of its fate. Hellerick (talk) 11:34, 3 January 2015 (UTC)
- Also, the article is dated December 25, 2014 and says that the proposals may need further work. This is definitely something to watch, but any news until (well) after the holidays are unlikely...—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); January 5, 2015; 16:33 (UTC)
UPDATE: It's official now. A flag and new version of coat of arms was adopted 25 December 2018. [1]Cian Akril (talk) 13:08, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

- The change shouldn't be made anyway. The only difference between the current version and the proposed version above is the addition of this flag, which is actually a flag of the city of Pskov and not of Pskov Oblast. Pskov Oblast is the only federal subject of Russia which does not yet have its own flag, which is why there isn't one in the current infobox.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); October 5, 2015; 13:29 (UTC)
