Tribute album?
[edit]Mojo calls it a "unique kind of various artists tribute album", Record Collector calls it "almost like one of those all-star tribute albums" and MusicOMH flatly denies it is one: "This isn't a tribute album though, as all the songs are brand new compositions by Linda". Considering tribute albums are traditionally other artists covering past compositions by an artist—and while I had "tribute album" in the lead and as a category in previous revisions—I've decided to remove it and categorise it as one of Thompson's albums as she had a hand in all the compositions. Misleading regarding the songwriting
[edit]The opening sentence - "Proxy Music is an album of songs composed by British singer Linda Thompson" - needs to be rewritten, and the same goes for what follows. The general impression given is that Linda wrote all the songs. That is, until you get to the credits in the Track Listing. BTW, I think it's a great album and was happy to find the page on WP. - I don't feel that the fact many were co-composed makes the phrase inaccurate. If there any she didn't have a hand in at all I'd agree with you! :) Murkeyc (talk) 16:14, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
