Why isn't the Continental Congress formally designed a Provisional Government? It seems to meet all the required criterion. BradMajors (talk) 22:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Can we...???
[edit]Can we include here Nepal? Its government is declared as an interim government since they would abolish their monarchy that has ruled them them for years. (NOTE:Click on my provided links for more information.) -Pika ten10 (talk) 13:19, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Provisional Government of Southern Ireland...wrong
[edit]Never in Irish History was there a state called "Southern Ireland". The provisional government should be referred to as either the Provisional Government of the Irish Free State or the Provisional Government of Ireland. Ste01 (talk) 06:21, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
Why very large?
[edit]"...political void has been created by the collapse of a very large government". Why would anyone want to state that? Is that some sort of definition of the term? During wartime there have been all sorts of governments set up that have been provisional in nature. Should these be included? I can name some; my own country the Faroe Islands in 1940, the Kingdom of Finland in 1918, West Virginia in 1861.
I suggest that we include these and maybe others as well. Failed states, unilaterally declared states, etc. Do these fall under the term "provisional government"?

ontology
[edit]Is it provisional because it says it is, or because it rules for a short time, or because it declares that it will exist for a limited time? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.189.103.145 (talk) 16:19, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Eritrea still has it?
[edit]As far as I know, the government of Eritrea is still transitional. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.16.187.179 (talk) 14:03, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
