Issues
[edit]The way this page is currently written makes it a poor fork of the Intel 8259 page. I'll see if I can find some more independent sources to turn it into a generic concept page. Someone not using his real name (talk) 10:48, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
The well known parts section is OBSOLETE. The legacy PC interrupt controllers are nolonger used, the new standard is the APIC offering simplified organization and increased number of IRQ channels and support for IRQ routing in multiprocessor systems.
