@Surtsicna:, Speciesboxes require a taxonomy template for the genus (and all taxa above genus). I've created the necessary Template:Taxonomy/Procoilodes. If Wikipedia doesn't have an article for a genus or any of the species in the genus, it won't have a taxonomy template for the genus. We still don't have taxonomy templates for every genus that DOES have an article, so preemptively creating templates for genera that don't yet have articles is not a priority. Beetles in particular are an area where Wikipedia still needs a lot of taxonomy templates for existing articles. Plantdrew (talk) 02:45, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Edit to add: It's perfectly fine to create an article with a "broken" Speciesbox (i.e., including a Speciesbox without making a taxonomy template for the genus). It will be in an error category and somebody will notice it and fix it in matter of hours. I'd prefer articles have a broken Speciesbox than not having one at all; it is harder to detect missing taxoboxes than it is to repair broken ones. Plantdrew (talk) 03:30, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
