The section implying a conspiracy that the Sands Prince and original Prince were supposed to be the same (and was changed only after WW and TT) is bullshit. The cited interview never says they are the same (nor implies it)- just because something is hinted at being a prequel does not mean it features the same characters. I believe it was explicitly stated elsewhere that one is the descendant of the other. The "Classic" remake features the Sands characters because that is what people relate with nowadays- in example, "Classic" has the Vizier as Jafar, which clearly couldn't have happened (even if Sands had not had sequels) being as the Vizier was killed at the end of "Sands." And, in the little extra 3D version of the old game included with Sands: the only reason they used the new Prince model is because, well... it's easier than making a whole new one!

Even IF they had originally thought of the two Princes being the same, it was most definitely changed by the end of Sands' production- games go through a LOT of changes in their development!! 72.198.83.143 (talk) 06:17, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Although the developers called (and maybe still call) the new series a prequel, that doesn't mean the two princes are the same character. I edited the article accordingly, with a new reference link. If you have a link to the article/interview/whatever where it's stated they are family, please add it to the article as well. The part about the art in POP Classic and the SOT bonus level is very likely, especially considering the comment about old games vs new series in aforementioned link, but still technically conjecture. What about the iPhone/iPod version?

[edit]

This came out in July 2010 and is remake of the original "Prince of Persia® Retro" I did not see this listed on the page at all. Shouldn't it be added? http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/prince-of-persia-retro/id373984189?mt=8 Thanks Victory2b (talk) 19:17, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Over 2 years on and it still hasn't been added, but then again its no longer available on the App Store for some reason?! --86.157.125.183 (talk) 18:16, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New POP Game.

[edit]

New information about the next Prince of Persia game has been released in a French gaming magazine. We need to create a new page for this game. Scans and general information gleaned in these links: http://loading.se/forum.php?thread_id=38325 http://twobrothersandasister.com/?p=1989 Max Corbetti (talk) 23:56, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An article? No, not yet. But definitely a developed section on this article. On magazine article isn't enough information to support an article. Rau's Speak Page 00:24, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Plot shortenings

[edit]

Considering that this is an article about the series, the plot sections shouldn't go into deep detail about the plot. Just touch on them. If no one does it, I'll do it myself. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions05:50, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All around article overhaul

[edit]

This article can easily be a GA, but in my opinion, it needs a few elements: a History section detailing creation adn whatnot, a bit more detail in the intro paragraph (could have 1 or 2 more paragraphs), a Reception section and an Overview section of what the series is about. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions06:32, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Two Thrones

[edit]

The game title "The Two Thrones" is being sold, at least in Europe, under the title of "Rival Swords." This information obviously should be included in this article, but cannot be written due to lack of external resources thus far. 195.23.182.8 (talk) 14:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Rival Swords is for PSP, in Europe we have The Two Thrones on PC, PS2 etc —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.31.226.40 (talk) 21:26, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prince Of Persia II Game Design Consultant

[edit]

In the credits for Prince of Persia II there is a reference to a Game Design Consultant, Mark Abrams. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but ... what did he contribute to the game? What was his compensation, if any? Where is he today and what is he working on? Inquiring minds want to know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vbwyrde (talkcontribs) 20:11, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Graphic Novel

[edit]

Hey, I'm making a page for the prince of persia graphic novel, and I could really use some help. The tiniest edition would be appreciated. Thank you. Kazaan (talk) 07:11, 27 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cultural Reference

[edit]

This is a very well-known South Korean pop song inspired from the story of original series of Prince of Persia. It's called "The Magical Castle" (마법의 성) sung by The Classic (더 클래식). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DB-2ak5O2yc

I can't find further concrete references to materialize this into the article. It's because of my poor websearching skills regarding South Korean websites. Perhaps Korean-speaking Wikipedia members can find more pieces of info about this famous song inspired from this game's storyline. Komitsuki (talk) 09:25, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I included the cultural reference with two references a while ago. But the website I referenced http://www.heraldbiz.com/SITE/data/html_dir/2008/04/09/200804090005.asp said it has a virus but it is not. It's just a year and a half old Korean article. Hold on a minute

[edit]

There's going to be a sequel to the 2008 PoP game? When was this announced or confirmed? 202.80.136.238 (talk) 15:29, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This was never confirmed, nor is it cited. I have removed it. --The Guy complain edits 15:00, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Elika into Prince of Persia

[edit]

An article has been created for Elika (Prince of Persia). Although the article is very well crafted, it is for a character who as yet appears in only one game. These articles should be merged; it is premature to give the Elika character over to a dedicated article. Tim Pierce (talk) 02:26, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion and privileges for a page on this website, as I am sure you know, aren't dictated by how many games a character appears in, but how much critical commentary can be found about said character. In this case, the attention put on Elika as a promotional tool, and her overwhelming reception, I believe, definitely grant her a page. That article has those sources, plus more; just give more people a chance to edit. Bottom line, though, "she only appeared in one game" is a very weak rationale, and is not supported by any policies here. The Guy (edits) 05:43, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If there has been overwhelming evidence of press attention on "Elika" and not on the Prince of Persia game, they are not included here. More than half of the references in the article are to dialogue within the game itself; the remainder are to reviews of the game that mention Elika only in passing. These are, frankly, good arguments for deleting the Elika article outright, but I think a merge is a lower-hassle solution. Tim Pierce (talk) 01:12, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Opppose Notability is not inherited: while this generally means a character that has appeared in many titles may be complete non-notable by Wikipedia's standards, a character with a singular appearance can be notable. We have several high-class articles for characters with only one appearance in a game and falling back on similar statements. In addition working it into here...probably wouldn't do much to make this article any better. So yes, after careful consideration, I oppose.
With that said I feel the article should have expansion work (i.e. the lead), tossing the concept art (doesn't add a lot to the article), and a copyedit to strengthen the tone. Finding more reliable sources for reception would also benefit it.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 04:42, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, bottom line, notability is determined by number and reliability of sources; not by number of game appearances. Just a side note, as well, this would definitely not be the place to merge. If we were to merge, we should merge into the List of characters in the Prince of Persia series. The information merged here would just further clutter this already-messy article; it is certainly not an appropriate place. As for the lack of widespread media attention that I proposed was there, I simply never finished the article. I still have tons of sources and information, I've just not gotten around to finishing the work; I've been caught in real life issues. Let's go no further than that. If this article could be expanded (and it certainly has more than enough potential), then it certainly should stay. And besides, all of the information on the page is relevant, but couldn't really be easily organized into a "list of characters" page. So, as it stands, too big for the list, and (I don't share this opinion) too small for its own article? It's in limbo, then. The Guy (edits) 05:54, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. I've updated the merge proposal to List of characters in the Prince of Persia series and will open the discussion there. Thanks for the suggestion. Tim Pierce (talk) 13:25, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Prince of Persia/ Prince of Iran!!

[edit]

I am completely disappointed by what Iranians are doing at Persian Wikipedia at this and all other related articles to "Prince of Persia". What they are doing is that they translated "'Price of Persia" into "Prince of Iran" and claiming that it is more appropriate for that since Persia was the former name of Iran until 1935. I don't really feel OK with this. When some contributers objected to that, they have made an "Objection Page" and all they did was that they ignored every single objection and continued to use the inappropriate name. And since they are the only administrators on Persian Wikipedia they believe nobody can take this right from them to rename this article into it's true meaning of "Prince of Persia" which would actually be "Shahzadeye Fars" or (شاهزاده فارس) into Persian language. The reason I am discussing this here is that, they really don't pay attention to what people are saying. I was just wondering if there would be any solution for that! Or is there anybody here to complaint to, in order to make them stop doing that?! 180.94.93.5 (talk) 15:24, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's me. There were some IP conflicts here between me and a vandal so I've created an account. Bahar Ehsan (talk) 15:34, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
