Split
[edit]I have just tagged a rather large heading with {{Split section}} and have just noticed the previous comments, it appears that more than this section needs splitting into new articles. Regards, Captain n00dle T/C 00:24, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- This whole article is a horrible mess. I did some work on moving stuff into basal ganglia a few months ago, but got distracted. I'll probably do more of this at some point, if nobody beats me to it. Ultimately this article should just focus on the things that make the primate basal ganglia different from the basal ganglia of other mammals. Looie496 (talk) 18:08, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- The split has been supported, so it appears that it is appropriate, and I have removed the split request tag. However, this is a specialised topic so the work should be done by somebody who understand the topic. I have informed both parties above and the two associated WikiProjects, and am now leaving the split to be carried out by the experts. SilkTork *YES! 21:56, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- I saw this from the notice at the Neuro project, and I sure hope Looie will do it, because it looks to me like a headache I'd rather not have (expert or not)! --Tryptofish (talk) 22:40, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I'm not on board for this. It would be a lot of work for an article that is rarely viewed -- if I feel an irresistable urge to write about the basal ganglia, I'll probably do it at the basal ganglia article, which gets 100 times more viewership. And in any case the thing the article should mainly be about, which is how the primate BG differs from the BG in other animals, is not an area of expertise for me. - That's OK. Oh well, are-twisting doesn't work well on an all-volunteer project! Just a note, then, to SilkTork that you may have to wait a while for those experts to show up. --Tryptofish (talk) 19:45, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Where did the hippocampus go?
[edit]Are there no images showing where the hippocampus is located in the striatum and all this basal ganglia mess? :) Thy, SvenAERTS (talk) 08:04, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
