- ... that the Vénus impudique (pictured), the first Venus figurine found in modern times, was excavated at Laugerie-Basse, one of the Prehistoric Sites and Decorated Caves of the Vézère Valley? source: White, Randall (December 2006). - ALT1:... that ...? Source: "You are strongly encouraged to quote the source text supporting each hook" (and [link] the source, or cite it briefly without using citation templates)

- The article was created in time, is long enough, and is free from close paraphrasing. The article is free from close paraphrasing, the hook is cited inline and interesting (assuming good faith for offline sources), and a QPQ has been provided. However, several paragraphs the article, such as about half of the listings at the "Sites included in the UNESCO listing" section, all but one listing at the "Other prehistoric sites in the region" section, and the entire "Prehistory museums and visitor centres" section are unreferenced. Lots of references added, if you see further problems please let me know! Fram (talk) 12:32, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you. Ready to go. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:09, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- Comment The use of the term Venus is problematic, not least because for the lay reader it will evoke classical antiquity for a prehistoric artefect. The terminology also ends up burying the most part of the hook. The fact it's a Venus figurine won't interest people as much as saying it's the earliest figure of a woman. Try something like "... that the first Paleolithic sculpture of a woman found in modern times (pictured) was excavated at Laugerie-Basse, one of the Prehistoric Sites and Decorated Caves of the Vézère Valley" Richard Nevell (talk) 08:59, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- Well, educating the layman should be one of our goals, so what about:
ALT1: ... that the Vénus impudique (pictured), the first Paleolithic sculpture of a woman found in modern times, was excavated at Laugerie-Basse, one of the Prehistoric Sites and Decorated Caves of the Vézère Valley?
- These sculptures are always called "Venus", so not using the term seems wrong; but instead of using it twice (original hook) or not at all (your hook), we now use it once and explain it once? Fram (talk) 09:55, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- It is one of our goals, but to do that you don't want to start by inadvertently misleading people. There isn't room in the hook to give proper context, so leave it to the article and drop the problematic mention of Venus. Richard Nevell (talk) 18:59, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

ALT2: ... that the first Paleolithic sculpture of a woman found in modern times (pictured) was excavated at Laugerie-Basse, one of the Prehistoric Sites and Decorated Caves of the Vézère Valley?
So, we have one hook which was accepted by a reviewer but opposed by the next commenter, and then two alternative hooks. Can the same or another reviewer decide which one is best? Fram (talk) 08:01, 30 October 2019 (UTC)
- I'm happy with ALT2. Richard Nevell (talk) 20:56, 3 November 2019 (UTC)
- I hope so, you proposed it :-) I'm happy with Alt1, let's see what others prefer. Fram (talk) 07:04, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- There is that! My preference remains with making the situation clear. Richard Nevell (talk) 08:04, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- I'm okay with ALT2 as it's slightly shorter. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 11:46, 4 November 2019 (UTC)

seems good to go unless I'm missing something? I have a weak preference for ALT1, but ALT2 also works. Wug·a·po·des 01:52, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
