rename title into Prehistoric Malaysia

[edit]

It would be better if the title is renamed to Prehistory Malaysia. Current titles (Early history of Malaysia) might be misleading and not descriptive of the issue tackled by the article. If there's no objection within 24 hours, I'll move it. __earth (Talk) 10:20, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article does not reflect the common concensus by anthropologists and linguists about the origin of the Austronesian peoples. see Austronesian languages.23prootie 09:23, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the article really needs tidying up. There's too much stuff not directly related to Malay. Can anyone with the right knowledge help? Cavingliz 10:20, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've asked someone but I don't know if he's interested23prootie 04:01, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Disputed

[edit]

I created this page. This page was created based on The Encyclopedia of Malaysia, volume: Languages & Literature, Early History, and other references. The theory of origin of Malay-speaking peoples in Malaysia was written clearly inside the book, it has a total 3 (or maybe more) theories of origin:

  • The Coastal Vietnam theory (originated from Yunnan) (founded 1889)
  • The Taiwan theory (1997)
  • The New Guinea theory (1965).

Anyone who wants to contribute the Taiwan & New Guinea theories or other new theories, please add or please create new pages.

Over-simplistic?

[edit]

Regarding the section: 10,000-5,000 years ago- Neolithic (New Stone Age)

"People learnt to build simple houses and to have families. Simple moral and simple society concept germinated." People presumably had families and lived in family groups much earlier... the other statements are pretty bland...I'm not an expert, but this seems to let down the previous sections which are informative. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lord Spring Onion (talkcontribs) 22:54, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an expert either and have nothing else to propose, but I agree: this is not very informative. And what does that mean, "learning to have families" ?

I suggest removing the text as none of it is proven. We have no idea about the morals that long ago! Cavingliz (talk) 06:31, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
