I wanted to draw attention to the fact the H,S,V values given for this color are inaccurate. I'm not sure where those values come from, but I suspect someone listed the H,S,L values by mistake.

The correct H,S,V values are:

HSV (h, s, v) (187°, 23%, 90%)

These can be discovered by feeding the Hex value (which has been correctly given) into any graphics software that is known (or can be configured to) translate the input into the corresponding H, S, V.

Citation needed?

[edit]

The first sentence "Powder blue may refer to two different colors" is listed as [citation needed] - but why?

References 2 and 3 (which appear to be uncontested) point to published mentions of two different colors - do we really need ANOTHER reference that specifically says they're different? "Original research" is one thing - but this is common sense.

I didn't make an edit because I'm a newbie and may be missing something. If so, please fill me in. 66.194.51.226 (talk) 13:34, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Baseball Road Uniforms

[edit]

It's a common belief that powder blue was the common color of baseball road uniforms in the 1970's and 1980's. Is this true, or were the uniforms a different shade of blue?--BigMac1212 (talk) 05:02, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite

[edit]

I've rewritten the article to focus it around the generally accepted real world meaning of the colour rather than the web colour: paint manufacturers and people taking Xkcd's online survey seem to be in agreement as to the hue (hue=140 or 141 on my Windows colour picker, or H=254 according to the HLC definition), whereas the web color is noticably out of step, having been inherited from the old X11 color names which I suspect were chosen pretty arbitrarily. Possible removal from list

[edit]

An entry in List of colors: A–F contained a link to this page.

The entry is :

  • Dark powder blue

I don't see any evidence that this color is discussed in this article and plan to delete it from the list per this discussion: Talk:List_of_colors#New_approach_to_review_of_entries

If someone decides that this color should have a section in this article and it is added, I would appreciate a ping.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:04, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
