This is a mess: NPOV and sourcing
[edit]Giving way too much weight to the "alternative view" which turns out to be an original confection based on primary sources (so which fail WP:MEDRS). This article needs heavy trimming ... Alexbrn (talk) 11:06, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Alexbrn: I trimmed 8 KB of the article a few months ago, and just trimmed another 8 KB after your encouragement, leaving it barely half the bloated size at which I found it. The medref tag is certainly still appropriate, but maybe the npov tag can come off now? —Patrug (talk) 10:22, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
Many thanks for doing that! I think the tag can probably be removed, though my hunch is that ultimately this topic is only worth a few sentences and those should be merged into the main sunscreen article ... Alexbrn (talk) 11:06, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks – I removed the npov tag, and added some better refs. Years ago, this article was created to avoid imbalancing the Sunscreen article with details of too many risks. If people find enough high-quality refs (e.g., recent medical review articles) to minimize the old risks, the articles might eventually be re-combined again. For now, we should certainly keep aiming for this article to satisfy WP:NPOV and WP:MEDRS. —Patrug (talk) 08:35, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- The bit of good content in this article was covered here Sunscreen#Health_effects. I have updated it further and merged. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 01:28, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
