Toxicity / usage as food additive

Is the part Use of potassium carbonate must be limited to a certain amount to prevent harm true? For me it suggest higher toxicity than I have found otherwise:

as a food additive it has no maximum level found in some EU regulation: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/ALL/?uri=CELEX%3A32011R1129
the Acceptable Daily Intake is "not limited" on PubChem: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/11430#section=Evaluations-of-the-Joint-FAO-WHO-Expert-Committee-on-Food-Additives---JECFA&fullscreen=true
the LD50 of it is in the same order of magnitude as salt's
